Instagram received the announcement first, but I’d like to take a minute here to talk a little more about our move and why it feels like going home in so many ways.
Where to? And why does it feel like going home?
One of the few constants of military life is moving. It’s always looming in the horizon. Sometimes, the new location is desirable, and others not so much. So what about this one? This one, this move, we’re quite enthusiastic about moving back to Colorado Springs in June! We’ve had some incredible memories here, notably the birth of our son, and we’ll miss the friends we’ve made, but we miss the mountains and winter that Colorado provides.
Though “home” is a somewhat elusive term, Colorado in many ways fits that definition. It’s where Jimmy and I first met. Our first memories are formed there: from first date to getting engaged. We love getting outdoors and are already excitedly discussing all of the ways we can spend more time with our son outside while living on The Front Range.
More family time
We’re also looking forward to having family nearby with my parents living in the area! Colorado Springs is the only place we can go where we’ll have support within an hour or two from us. I wasn’t able to grow up in Colorado Springs, but my family started visiting a regular basis a little over 20 years ago!
